Kia Picanto in Lee on Solent, Hampshire

Meet the new Kia Picanto. It might be small but the Picanto is big on features, with a reversing camera, cruise control and keyless entry available as standard. This is the first Kia to be offered with Kia’s automated manual transmission (which engages the clutch for you) and models equipped with the 8” touchscreen come with UVO CONNECT telematics, so you can keep tabs on your Picanto with real-time information. 1’, ‘2’, ‘3’, X-Line, X-Line S, GT-Line and GT-Line S trim levels are available. X-Line models have sportier styling and faux leather upholstery while GT-Line models have even sportier styling with red accents. ‘S’ variants of these trims get keyless entry and start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and wireless charging. You also get a choice of efficient petrol engines, including a sporty 1.0 T-GDi with 100 PS.

Design

X-Line and GT-Line models ride on 16” diamond-cut alloy wheels and have a sportier front end with striking LED daytime running lights. GT-Line and GT-Line S models stand out as the sportiest models with red exterior colour accents.

Drive

The Picanto has sharp handling, strong performance and a refined ride. It’s packed with useful driving aids, like a reversing camera and cruise control in ‘3’ models upwards and rear parking sensors in X-Line S and GT-Line S grades.

Practicality

The Picanto’s 255-litre boot is one of the biggest in the class and you can fold the rear seats down 60-40. ‘2’ models upwards have front and rear electric windows, electric door mirrors and a leather multi-function steering wheel.

Living with it

The 8” touchscreen is a joy to use with in-built navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also a 4.2” TFT cluster display between the dials. You can also get advanced driving aids like Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance.
